Koh Tao is an island located in the Gulf of Thailand, within the Surat Thani Province of Thailand. The island is shaped like a curved bean and is situated northwest of Koh Phangan, approximately 45 kilometers away. It covers an area of about 21 square kilometers and has an estimated population of 12,000 people.
Nearby, there is a small island called Koh Nang Yuan, located to the northwest of Koh Tao. A sandbar connects the two islands, creating a picturesque seascape that resembles a divided sea. This area is a popular spot for snorkeling and diving, offering stunning coral reefs. Koh Nang Yuan also boasts a famous viewpoint called Nang Yuan Viewpoint, providing breathtaking panoramic views.
